Around 100 burials have been uncovered from a trench measuring around 500 square meters, opened in a tract of land in Las Quintanas.
Even though archaeologists discovered only a small amount of grave goods, the bio-anthropological studies provided interesting data about Pintia people from the early Medieval period, as well as personal stories: the mother who surely died in childbirth and whose baby was put in her tomb between her hip and right arm.
And the death of two children whose bodies were interred in the same grave, facing one another. In this tomb a handsome bronze plaque was found.
The exhumed tombs are currently in the process of description and investigation.
